Small pink flowers, including roses, decorate the edge of this antique Nippon gravy boat & attached underplate.

The piece is made of white porcelain and has two spouts. Vertical gold lines alternate with vertical columns of X’s to make a design around the gravy boat. Both the edge of the gravy boat and underplate are bordered with pink flowers and black blocks with pink roses. Additionally, they are trimmed in gold.

It measures approximately 9” (22.9 cm).

Marked on the underside in pale blue is the maple leaf mark, “Nippon” “Handpainted.” This mark dates back to 1891.

It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, repairs, or signs of crazing. The design is completely intact. There is minimal wear to the gold trim.
