Description

Accepted into the prestigious Yosemite Renaissance Y32! https://www.yosemiterenaissance.org/current-exhibition-yr32

This faintly Japanesque print is another departure from my usual style. This close-up representation of the iconic and beloved Black Oak that blankets the Valley floor uses a bold, white-line technique, which I've rarely used. I mixed up more ink than I've ever dared at one time - a giant, scary pool of it! I wasn't sure it was really going to work until I pulled the first print... But work it does. Is it one of my favorite prints to date because I still mourn the loss of my own giant, twin Black Oak that went down in a snowstorm 5 years ago? Or, perhaps the graceful arching branches speak to me of cool, shaded afternoons on the banks of the Merced, where the gently playing leaves seem to brush away anxieties and replace them with soft sighs of contentment.

This is No. 7 in a planned edition of 12 prints in 12 months honoring Yosemite's 125th Birthday and a 'Big One' for me - We are both celebrating for the entire year! You can find the sixth, award winning print in the series here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/272766112/the-trickster-yosemite-coyote-in

Returns & exchanges

Printmaking Fine Art prints are unique and each one varies slightly from its edition-mates. When posting photos, we try to give you a peak at multiple pieces within an edition. If you wish, we can take an additional photo or two of the piece you would be receiving prior to purchase.

For that reason, we offer no refunds or exchanges except for carrier-documented* damage. If you aren't satisfied with your purchase, please contact us through the Etsy Conversations system, so we can discuss your thoughts and work to resolve any issues together. Please notify us ASAP if you have a problem.

If your print arrives damaged, please take a photograph, contact your carrier and return it to us (after you receive our authorization) in the original packaging. Only after this is received can we provide the refund/exchange.

Shipping policies

Items are listed to ship within the US only, but may be shipped outside the US upon request with cost determined per item. Please convo us your request!

Items will ship out within 3 business days of receiving payment. If your address differs from that registered with Etsy or you need the item to be shipped to a different address (for work or as a gift perhaps) please let us know in the 'note to seller' or by the Etsy Conversations system.

In the USA, we ship using USPS Priority (usually 2-3 days), which we have found the safest and most economical method of shipping fine art. Encaustic paintings are shipped using the best method possible on a case-by-case basis due to temperature concerns. If a faster method of shipping is needed, please let us know before your order and we can provide you with price quote.

NOTE: Prints to Europe, Mexico and Australia are now shipped rolled up in clear archival sleeves, in Triangles/Tubes unless you request otherwise. The price goes up 3X to ship in flat boxes, so we are trying this method starting in July of 2016.

All packages go with insurance and delivery confirmation. Outside the USA, please remember that all tariffs are paid by you, the buyer.
