Earthy Brown Cream Tribal Necklace, Rustic Trade Beads Choker, African Trade Beads Sterling Silver SALE

warm earthy brown, rust, chestnut, cinnamon, cream, copper and silver colors are combined in this ethnic / tribal style choker necklace. All beads, among them African trade beads, are handcrafted, not two of them are alike, please see the material description below. They wonderfully contrast in color and texture and originate from places all over the world. This one-of-a-kind necklace should be worn short, ending just at the wishbone. It looks striking with all natural fabrics as linen, wild silk or cotton in natural earthy colors, while at the same time being completely suitable with jeans and shirt.

length: 45 cm
size of the center bead: 15 mm
size of all other beads: 8 - 11 mm

Material:
- round beads with the coppery glitter are vintage lampworked glass beads with lots of aventurine from Murano,Venice/ Italy, made in the 1950s. The center bead is large enough to be a focal, but small enough to homogeneously be integrated into the overall design.
- silver discs are modern ceramic beads made on the Isle of Mykonos /Greece. They are heavily coated with pure silver and carefully kiln annealed for durability.
- bauxite beads in shades of warm earthy reddish-browns, traditionally made in Ghana. Most of todays production is in a small village called Akyem Abompe where almost all families are maintaining themselves through the manufacture of beads. Patina is the most beautiful when worn for a while so that the beads have absorbed natural human oil and sweat.
- ivory colored discs are conch shell beads from Nepal. The conch shell is sacred, beads are traditionally used in Buddhist Prayer Mala.
- fat rondelles in shades of ivories are vintage stone beads, perhaps agate. I found these in a small antique shop in Southern France, but I have no idea where or when they were made.
- sterling silver endcaps and toggle clasp.

This necklace ships from Germany / Europe by registered mail. I ship worldwide and I accept Euro in addition to US $. Please see the shop policies for detailed information.
