A vintage print created for the Confederation Life Insurance company in a folio...

This particular print was named " Toronto purchase "or " L'acquisition de Toronto" . The artist is J D Kelly .. the print is 16 X 20 inches . The painting shows Lord Dorchester, Governor of Canada, inviting the Chiefs of the Mississauga Indians to discuss the purchase of the Toronto site. The meeting was aboard HMS Secca ,also presents were Sir John Johnson , Colonel Butler and Nathaniel Lines, interpreter.... year was 1788.
