Dimensions

Height: 11.25 Inches; Width: 4.5 Inches

On sale! Dating to the late 1920s, this amazing antique Van Briggle vase has three Indian heads in a stylized design. This great Arts and Crafts vase has a Mountain Craig glaze, which is a rich reddish brown with subtle touches of green on the decorations. The bottom is sandy colored, and it has an incised logo, Van Briggle, and Colo. Sp'gs. in block letters.

This vase was a novelty item introduced in the 1920s and produced, with variations, through the 1950s. Note though that the faces are less detailed than in some of the later vases, giving it a more mysterious, somber mood. You can still see some hazy features, even bumps in the braids hanging down, but nothing is distinct.

The vase is in very good condition overall but has a few area of light discoloration (not unusual for this age vase with a matte glaze like this). It does have one chip on the base (see last photo), which has been nicely repaired and painted, but is still visible (and is reflected in the price). No other chips or cracks.

Size: 11 1/4 inches tall and about 4 1/2 inches wide (28.5 x 11.4 cm)
