The Hittite Design
This design gets its name from the Hittite Civilization (1600BC).
When developing this design people got inspired from the daily life of the Hittites and the nature around Cappadocia-Turkey.
It is a colorful design with primitive depictions of the deer which was used as a symbol of peace by the Hittites. The triangle shaped little patterns are all representing the physical features of the area such as the highlands, fairy chimneys, valleys etc.
You can see that the patterns are always drawn in ring-shaped lines, that’s to symbolize the sun as it was the goddess of the Hittites.
