For sale is this rare set of Suarez Toledo steel scissors and thimble manufactured in the early to mid 1900’s. All three pieces are gilded and beautifully engraved and decorated in damascene pattern. The blades are tight and sharp and cut all the way to the tip. The larger scissor appears to only have been used a few times while the smaller embroidery scissor has slight signs of wear on the handles but is in excellent shape otherwise. The thimble is gold plated inside and out and has the Toledo name inset near the bottom. The larger scissor also has the Toledo name inset on one of the blades. The simulated snake skin case closes tight with a push button catch and is in good condition with only a few wear marks on the outside. The case’s satin lining is molded to securely hold each implement and is original, intact and clean. The larger scissor is approximately 5.5 inches long by 2 inches wide and the smaller embroidery scissor is approximately 3.75 inches by 1.5 inches wide. The thimble is almost 1 inch high with an opening diameter of ¾ inches. Each scissors’ blades are connected with a rivet with an indentation across the top on one side to make it look like a screw.
