'These are Hard Times for Dreamers'

This beautiful Amelie inspired screen print was created as part of a on off exhibition entitled 'The Big Screen', which featured 18 UK artists' re-imaginings of their favourite films in poster form. The show opened on the 18th March 2016 at the AbbeyGate Cinema in the Suffolk market town of Bury St.Edmunds, England.

Blimp's submission to The Big Screen was inspired by scenes from French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet's gorgeous 2001 film 'Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain'. Restricted to just a two colour palette, halftone techniques were used to create texture and depth to a simple marker pen illustration of the rooftops of Paris.

Printed on luxurious Fabriano by master screen printers 'Off The Press' (www.offthepress.org.uk/) as a set of 20, with only 10 for sale outside of the exhibition itself. The detail and quality in the reproduced are simply incredible.
