This is a very unique 1980's Coach Shoulder Bag No 4050 from the Coach Lightweight Collection. The leather is a combination of buckskin and black. This bag has pre- orderly creed stamp number 640-4736 stamped on its creed.
This a a rare bag and is offered at a bargain price because of the two spots that are found on the flap.
I've been shopping in the vintage market place for quite some time and this is the first time I have come across this style Coach Lightweight Bag. However, I did find the bag listed in the 1987 Coach Holiday Catalog as the first bag offered when Coach introduced its new 'Lightweight Collection':
"A Few Words About Coach Lightweights:
"Classically styled Coach light weights are made of full grain natural glove tanned cowhide - carefully prepared in a special process that renders it soft, supple, and long wearing.
These unstructured bags are meant to be worn often for work and Leisure. The pouch like shapes are designed to take full advantage of the leather slight, soft, supple qualities and include the details you have come to expect from coach - solid brass hardware, outside seam bindings and handy inside pockets. Coach light weights are available in a large range of colors - from deep rich Earth Tones to several lighter shades.

This bag has two spots on the front flap that I have not attempted to remove. These spots are the reason for the low price on this rare bag. However, aside from the spots, the bag is in fantastic structural condition as even though there are some scuffs and scratches there are no rips, tears or holes. It also has its original hang tag. Please see photos and zoom in for closer inspection. Ask for more if you need them.
