Your top will ship unfinished, always, these are samples of what our DIY customers do
with our tops. Most finished with urethane or tung oil or combination thereof.

The standard added shipping ( that is included) may decrease and you may receive a partial refund with
shipping if you live in WA, OR, Or ID. We can only bill a flat rate with these
items. so for example if you are buying a 25 x 52 Maple top and live in Seattle or PDX, you will get
a refund from our staff ( for shipping)

Any tops shipped over 30 x 58 , or 25 x 68, will have to have additional oversize shipping upcharge added, paid before shipment. So if you purchase a 30 x 72, there will be more fees. .Now is good time to buy, UPS is very reasonable at this time..

Our prices are very good, esp on walnut, so people often dont mind the oversize charges. Please expect them and please be prompt

96" and 108" pieces, expect that they may have some defect and some flaws ( knots and defect etc).


These are genuine Solid American Black Walnut Desk tops 1.25 Inches thick, face grain.

100 % solid finger jointed 1.25 inches thick black walnut, not cheap veneer, like IKEA.* Keep in mind we bring the DIY finishing Possibility to you front door. Beware of sellers of this type of butcher block with ( mineral oil and beeswax compilation) . These products do not dry and leave a oily and greasy residue on your top that is not practical for a work desk or a sit stand or office desk. We never recommend ordering desk tops that are finished, damage will occur, most of the time.

Some of the Matte photos depict our walnut with our Tung oil we sell here in the shop with a dryer..some are shown with a topcoat finish sealer........highly recommend .

We send directions for DIY finishers for a variety of different finishing methods.

If you want 2 or more pieces to match, we do this for people all the time and know what it takes to do that, we do this all-the-time.

******* All butcher blocks have a propensity to cup, your block may arrive with a 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch of cup or so. This is the nature of
all butcher blocks, no matter how thick they are.. Please understand this makes no difference in the usability of your top or how it may screw on your base.

These are unfinished barewood 100% walnut. Note: some walnut has bullets, nails, fasteners that come with the bare walnut wood in production, sometimes, but rarely , these end up in the final panel.

Note: These are unfinished blocks of wood, this is a DIY finishing project which takes a wood person about 1-2 man hours to finish, either with Tung oil or Urethane or similar finish. Our tops come very well packaged. Sometimes our tops arrive with fingernail scratches or superficial scratches and rarely but sometimes corner dings. These are not a big deal, and are normal. anything superficial or light scratching can be easily taken out with 330 sandpaper or heavier 220 if needed. Corner Dings can be eased off with sandpaper very easily and with some elbow grease, blended into the top. Subtle dings and fingernail scratches are however unwanted, but often are a result of shipping handling. Etsy does not process or deal with shipping claims for damage. You as the buyer, must handle a damage claim , if one thinks they want to proceed. I can tell you from experience, its always better to fix a ding or two , than to deal with a fedex claim. In the end you would commonly have to get a certificate of destruction, which is laborious and tedious.
