In 1785, 6 years before Vermont was a state, Capt. John Norton started a Stoneware pottery business that would be run by the Norton family for over 100 years.

Edward Norton ran the business solely from 1881-1894 and it is his mark that appears on this 2 gallon Brown jug, E. Norton & Co. Bennington, VT.

This is a very nice jug with a lot of history dating back to 1785. Add this one to your collection of start a collection for someone special in your life.

There is a very small chip off of the spout along with a few flecks of the brown glaze missing on the spout. On the front to the lower left is missing piece of the brown glaze. Review all the pictures or contact me with any questions.

This is a very nice advertising piece. Don't miss this opportunity to add this piece to your collection

This is fairly priced at the $159 and this price includes free shipping in the USA. Shipping outside of the USA is negotiable with the seller, just ask me.
