Follow the white rabbit to a tea party with the March Hare with this darling vintage lithograph print presenting the April 5, 1896 issue cover of Harper's Magazine that captures the whimsy and curiosity of Lewis Carroll's 1865 novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Famously regarded as the father of the American poster, legendary American illustrator Edward Penfield's work came out of the era known as the "Golden Age of American Illustration". One imagines that this Edward Penfield illustrated Harper's Magazine cover probably brought a smile to the face of the still-living children's literature artist John Tenniel who illustrated Lewis Carroll’s 1865 novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and 1871 novel Through the Looking-Glass.

On the backside of this vintage lithograph print is another Belle Époque era Harper's Magazine cover, this one is also illustrated by Edward Penfield and made its debut February 1895. Depicted here are two lovers on a windy day, the man is smoking a cigarette as he attempts to secretly mail a love letter to his valentine who so happens to be curiously peering over his shoulder; the envelope clearly reads, "To: My Valentine".

Recovered from a vintage art book published in 1971, this is one of the beautiful high quality full page reprints presented from the art nouveau era. This vintage original lithograph was printed on a sturdy sheet of matte paper. Please note that the "LaOohLaLa Boutique" watermark shown in the image provided is not present on your vintage art print.

Making a delightful gift for a nostalgic lover of the fantasy literary illustrations of the Victorian and Belle Époque eras, this vintage lithograph print would look charming framed and displayed in a children's literature inspired nursery, child's room, library, or classroom reading corner. The Harper's Magazine cover on the reverse side would also look fabulous framed and displayed, yet perhaps in a master bedroom or bathroom with art influence from the Gilded Age!

Since these full page illustrations are featured on one page and therefore displayed on the front and back, you will only be able to frame and showcase the one poster illustration that you admire the most. In excellent mint condition, this vintage original lithograph print appears to be flawless and pristine...making it a lovely gift!

Measurements: (Please notice the white border surrounding the illustrations, these measurements indicate the size of the entire vintage art book page and therefore include the border):
