Gardening is about enjoying the smell of things growing in the soil, getting dirty without feeling guilty, and generally taking the time to soak up a little peace and serenity. ~Lindley Karstens

This is a packet of 40-50 wild columbine seeds. Hummingbirds and butterflies love this North American native with its gorgeous red and yellow flowers! It's also a favorite with fairies, making it great for the faery garden. :)

Wild columbine is a perennial blooming the second year from seed. This is a good one for Fall sowing. Seeds may be sown direct in cool weather or cold stratified for germination, which can take from several weeks to 2 months. Wild columbine is hardy in zones 3-8.

This plant likes partial shade and is great for a woodland garden. It grows 2'-3' tall and blooms from April to July its second year. In Victorian times it was also known as "Granny's Bonnet" and represents desertion in the language of flowers.

These seeds were harvested Summer of 2009. All of my seeds are harvested by hand from plants grown organically, without the use of any chemicals. Seeds are packed in plastic bags and are kept cool until shipment. Please convo me with any questions.

Thanks for looking and keep checking for more listings as the season progresses!
