Description

“You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.” — Walter Hagen

・・・

This 21 bead wrist mala features six genuine pressed rose petal beads. You can - quite literally - pause to smell the flowers anytime your heart desires a moment of peace.

To maintain long-lasting aroma, I suggest storing this mala in the included pouch when not in use. However, even after weeks of continuous wear, my own mala still delights me with the sweet smell of roses!

The remaining 15 mala beads are authentic olive wood, sourced from Christian craftsmen and women in Bethlehem, Israel.

An unpolished Moonstone guru serves as a lovely centerpiece for this mala. Moonstone is a "stone of new beginnings," and is strongly connected to the intuition. It has a powerful calming effect, and stabilizes the emotions.

・・・

Specifications:

∙6mm pressed rose petal beads.
∙8mm olive wood beads.
∙8mm unpolished Moonstone guru bead. Please note that individual Moonstone beads will have varying color and pattern.
∙Gold-toned accents.
∙Finished bracelet measures 7.25 inches around.
∙Strung on durable, 1mm elastic cord for easy wear.

・・・

FAQs

Malas, or prayer beads, have been used in meditation and recitation of mantras for thousands of years. Manipulating beads to count mantras or affirmations can focus awareness and concentration during these spiritual practices.

The simplest and most traditional malas consist of 108 counting beads, a finishing bead called a guru, and a tassel or knot. Numerous malas also include marking beads. These additional beads, usually a different size or texture, permit shorter meditations. All malas can be worn as necklaces, or gently wrapped as bracelets.

Wrist malas, also known as “power beads,” are made from 21 or 27 beads. They are often strung on a stretchy cord, and can be worn daily as a reminder of your meditation or yoga practice.
Choosing a mantra or affirmation is highly personal. Traditionally, a mantra would be given to you by a guru or teacher. If you are selecting one for yourself, find one that resonates with you. I personally default to “OM" (or AUM), as this chant is often used during my yoga practices. Another of my favorites is the Sanskrit Shivoham:

Namah Shivaya Para Purnam
Shivoham mmm hmmm Shivoham

(I honor the divine in myself and in all things)

An affirmation can be anything positive or powerful you feel bears repeating.
Depending on your own belief structure, you may hold the mala in either hand. I prefer the left, as this is the receiving hand. Each bead is held between the middle or ring finger and thumb to count a mantra. You will start reciting at the first bead following the guru bead (the one on top of the tassel or knot), and move once around the mala for the full 108 recitations. If you are using a mala with marking beads, you may choose to pause at any marker for reflection, or simply complete your meditation session.

The most important thing to remember is to handle your mala with reverence.
All of my malas are crafted with natural wood and/or gemstone beads. Although I take great care to represent my product as accurately as possible, variations in size, shape and color do occur.
I am currently offering custom designs on a limited basis. Please feel free to Convo me with any inquiries or requests.

Namaste.
