Description

This is a fun item - it's a set of fossilized teeth and vertebrae found in the Phosphate mines of Khouribga, Morocco in North Africa. The fossils are between 45- 70 million years old! Included with the fossils is a nice poster that identifies fossil teeth and vertebrae that are commonly found in this area. So you can look through the fossils and identify the different types you have. There will be several different types in each set, but not every type represented on the poster will be found in the set. For even more fun, you can bury the teeth in a bucket of sand and let kids search for the teeth and then identify the ones they have found.

These are specimen pieces - many are partial, broken teeth but there are complete teeth in there too (see photos for a general idea of the quality/quantity of fossils in the set). Most of the fossils are small teeth and vertebrae, but in addition to these, you are guaranteed to get 4 of the larger teeth that are shown on the poster - a Mosasaur tooth (sea reptile), Enchodus tooth (extinct bony fish), Squalicorax pristodontus tooth (Cow Shark), and Otodus obliquus (mackerel shark). This is a great activity for teachers, birthday parties, and just something fun to do with your family to get your kids excited about fossils. Extra quantities of fossil teeth are available for purchase if desired, just please inquire by email.

THESE TEETH ARE SHARP AND THEY ARE A CHOKING HAZARD FOR YOUNG CHILDREN! PLEASE DO NOT USE WITH CHILDREN UNDER AGE 6.

We have a variety of fun, educational products available so be sure to check out our other listings!
