Description

Ingrid - ONE OF A KIND (OOAK) small white porcelain bowl, hand made ceramic bowl, pottery bowl, with blue porcelain shards and genuine Lapis Lazuli gemstone inclusions. Rim has been "pinched" finished for textural effect. Pot is clear glazed.

7" x 7" x 4 3/4"

>Because of the inclusion of Lapis Lazuli in the clay, I would not recommend using this bowl for serving food. I don't know that it is unsafe, but I don't know that it is, either. Lapis Lazuli is not normally something human beings would eat, as far as I know. I am guessing here, but Lapis looks to me like it contains a good deal of copper, which possibly might leach into any food stored in the bowl.

I would call it dishwasher safe but happier to be hand washed.

I only made 3 bowls using these inclusions. Lapis Lazuli debris (left over from cutting gemstones) is not something I can get on a regular basis. This is the only one I have left. Each one was unique in shape and color.

**You may have noticed that I am not a “production potter”. I don't make the same thing over and over again. There is nothing wrong in doing that, it is just not where my interests lay. I am what is termed a “studio potter”. I like bowl forms in their various guises. No two of my pieces are the same, even when working on a similar theme. It can take upwards of a week for me to make one piece. Any given piece may take several visits to the kiln before I get the color development that I want. I tend to treat each object that I make as an individual, rather than a “thing”. I only work with materials that I feel have a “spark” to them, a sort of “life force” element.
Signed and dated.

**Unique and wonderful to hold.

**If you wish to make installment payments please contact me for instructions.

Ingrid would come to you very well wrapped for safe shipment. Shipment will come insured and require a signature upon delivery.

**If you would like to display Ingrid, or any other of my pieces, on a walled surface - but can't figure out how to do that - I can get a wall mounting for you. The mountings are made of clear acrylic, attach securely to drywall, and must be fitted to the individual piece. When you indicate your interest, I will get a price quote for you. The price depends on the size and shape, but they are not expensive. I do not take any carrying, handling or other fees on mountings. I order them for my customers as a courtesy – convenience only.

**If you have any questions about the bowl, the process, or the exhibition history of the piece, please do not hesitate to ask.

**Shipping and insurance are quoted for delivery within the United States. If you require overseas shipping, please contact me with your shipping address and I will get a quote for you.

Enjoy!

Ingrid
