Description

This one-of-a-kind handmade dog collar measures approximately ½” wide, and adjusts to fit dogs’ necks between 10 and 14 inches around. It would be appropriate for most dogs between 10 and 20lbs. (It’s always best to measure the dog’s neck to ensure a good fit, but in case you can’t, breeds in this size range generally include Australian Shephard, Beagle, Bichon Frise, Boston Terrier, Brittany Spaniel, Cairn Terrier, Corgi, King Charles Spaniel, Cocker Spaniel, Dachsund, French Bulldog, Greyhounds under 50 lbs, Lhasa Apso, Miniature Schnauzer, Pug, Scottish Terrier, Shetland Sheepdog, Shih Tzu, Wheaten Terrier, West Highland White Terrier, and similarly sized breeds and mixes.)

Durability
All of our collars and leashes have a heavy duty nylon webbing core, so they’re just as strong as a conventional commercial collar. All hardware is either stainless steel or military-grade plastic. The 100% linen outer fabric is fully washable and hard-wearing. And the whole thing is held together with polyester thread using a special triple stitch for extra strength and durability.

Practicality
The military-grade plastic side release buckle is easy to get on and off your dog, and the snugly-fitting triglide ensures that the collar will adjust to grow with your dog but won’t loosen and slip off when you’re out on a walk. If it ever gets dirty or stained, you can wash it in the sink or even throw it in the laundry machine (although because of the sturdiness of the hardware I wouldn’t recommend putting it in with anything delicate).

Craftsmanship
Each artisan dog collar is handmade by a frankly rather obsessive craftsperson. I start with a piece of white linen, a piece of nylon webbing, and a handful of hardware. From there I dye the linen using a mix of low-water-immersion and traditional shibori techniques, cut it to size, wrap and sew it around the webbing, and attach the hardware. No two pieces of fabric are ever the same, so you know that your dog will never show up to puppy class in the same outfit as someone else :-)
