Description

This is a real find - absolutely unmarked "brand new" condition, stored away since they were first printed in 1948.

The photograph shown at the top of the card is the Base Flight Line where the P-51 Mustangs parked. The tower building in the background has long since been demolished, but over the years, it had been put to a variety of uses once GSA turned the base over for civilian use. Our offices, pilot shop and flight school were located just a short distance to the north, on the east ramp, which had been designated the general aviation side of the airport. We occupied building T-406, Kelly Ave. (the military "T" indicated a temporary structure).

The photo at bottom is that of Base Headquarters, also no longer in existence.

So many years of so much history, torn down and tossed aside in the name of progress, the old airfield has now become Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. We miss what it used to be, but once the transition began, we were very happy to move on.

Size: 3-1/2" wide x 5-1/2" long

Produced by Art Novelty Company, Manchester, NH
