Vintage from the 1980s

With the recent Jacqueline de Ribes exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, her work has been getting more and more attention. Pieces are sure to increase in value and being already rare and hard to find, exceptional pieces like this one will get scarcer. This is a gorgeous silk dress looks like it just stepped off the runway. Her signature long and lean lines are combined with a genius cut and a inner foundation that shapes and molds the body. It is made of a fine silk in a beautiful vibrant coral. Soft gathers lie over the left hip to slim the figure. A high slit in the front allows you to walk despite the lean cut of the skirt. Zipper closure up the back with a hook and eye at the back neck. This is an exquisite piece, timelessly elegant...

A retrospect exhibition about her designs and style entitled "Jacqueline de Ribes: The Art of Style," was presented at The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in the Fall of 2015.
