History: " Spode pottery was founded in 1770 in Stoke-on-Trent, UK by Josiah Spode I. William Copeland formed a partnership with Josiah Spode II and his son, William Spode in 1805. The company became Royal potters in 1806.

The company was renamed Copeland and Garrett in 1833; WT Copeland in 1847; WT Copeland and sons in 1867; and back to Spode Limited in 1870 (to celebrate its 200th).

This pattern is rare and hard to find even at major retail replacement shops. It is Rosedale - S1225 and the date manufactured is March 1946. Even though this set is 69 yrs. old it has no chips or discolorations. You can tell it has been used but only on the foundation on back. The beautiful dinner plate is 10 1/2" across and in excellent condition.
