What is 14k Gold-Filled?

Gold-filled is the next best option to 14k solid gold. It is a less expensive option and it is hypoallergenic. Gold-filled is actual 14k gold heat-bonded with an inner core of brass as opposed to gold plated which is a thin layer of gold liquid solution electroplated over a base metal. Brass is used because it is hypoallergenic. All our clasps and ear wires will be marked 14/20 GF.

We do offer a few components in gold plating but in a higher quality long lasting micron option.

My wife loved this necklace, and it’s a lovely piece of jewelry. Granted, the emerald, being practically opaque, is nothing to stare at for long, but I’d have been honestly shocked if we got a clear, fiery emerald of this size for a price this low. It’s still a beautiful shade of green, looks great with the fine, gold chain, and adds a touch of elegance to any outfit.
