Pattern for Cute little fringe moccasin Shoes, native style for boys and girls! Inspired by traditional Navajo designs, these little shoes will be a lovely family heirloom to keep as a momento of baby’s early years.

Instructions given for three sizes: -
Size 1: 3-6 months -3.9” (10cms)
Size 2: 6-9 months – 4 ¼” (11cms)
Size 3: 9-12 months 4 ¾” (12cms)
For Size 0-3 months 3 ½”(9cms) - follow instructions for Size 1 using DK yarn and 3.5mm hook.

The pattern comprises a fully comprehensive photo tutorial (with more than 50 photos!) It's written for practiced beginners and intermediate level crocheters familiar with basic crochet stitches and pattern terminology. To follow this pattern you need to be able to do the following stitches -
chain stitch - ch.
slip stitch - sl st.
single crochet - sc.
double crochet - dc.
half-double crochet - hdc.
-you also need to know basic increases and decreases of these stitches.

*The pattern is written in ENGLISH with AMERICAN CROCHET TERMS USED THROUGHOUT

The pattern requires some very simple cross stitching but don’t worry if you’re not experienced at sewing! This tutorial guides you through the process with lots of photos that provide a step-by-step guide to doing the entire project.

To make the shoes you'll need approx 50grams of lightweight worsted yarn and a E or G crochet hook (3.5mm or 4mm), depending on your gauge and the yarn you choose.

PLEASE NOTE: the choice of yarn is very important. Natural fibres are best, either cotton and wool mix, or pure cotton or merino wool. Best not to use acrylic because you’ll need to press the fringe with a steam iron and acrylic will melt!

For the laces, I used a yard of soft mock suede cord, 3mm (1/8”). If you don’t have this you can always chain the laces in one of the contrast colours.
NEVER LEAVE BABIES UNATTENDED WITH CORDS OF ANY KIND.
The cross stitching and motif are done with sportweight or fingering (UK 4ply) - you’ll need 4 or 5 meters of each colour.
