Description

Back before the Flint water crisis, back before the GM plant on Bristol Road closed during the auto industry down turn, before even that same factory opened it's doors for the first time, prior even to the notion of gasoline powered cars, Flint Michigan was known as "Vehicle City" for making carriages. Located on the large Flint River (used to float timber out of the heart of the state to the boats of the great lakes eager to take the quality wood to consumers far and wide), Flint was a prime location to make carriages. Carriages being an easily portable commodity made (out of that same wood) without the cost of transporting the wood to a workshop.
This little souvenir purse was likely bought by a middle class girl allowed to go along on the purchase, and trip home, of a brand new carriage. For her, it might have been a trip of lifetime. Certainly for a young girl, it would seem so.
She took good care of it.
Comes with optional gift box.
