A tichel, pronounced “tikhl”, is from the Yiddish word. It is loosely translated to mean a woman’s head covering.
It is, simply, a soft beret, snood or scarf. Each of these items can be decorated or wrapped in an elegant fashion and still maintain its definition as a tichel.
(A structured hat, would not be called a tichel.)

Tying a Tichel is not complicated at all, there are countless options for tying your headscarves.

An Apron/SINAR is a kind of headwrap, that has the classic shape of a kitchen apron with two narrow strips of fabric extensions, one on each side, and a large, wider square in the center, to fully cover the crown of the head.
The SINAR fabric is equally simple to tie, but some women, feel more comfortable pairing the SINAR with a Volumizer or a head cap. Ultimately, it's just a matter of preference and comfort, which you choose.

Volumizer is a fitted head cap, with added soft, padded, thickness either around the crown or on top of the head, to add height, or both.
Volumizers may also have added long bands of padded fabric, that are wrapped around the head, multiple times, to create more thickness in specific areas.

Why should I use it?
- Volumizer add an air of elegance and regality.
- It makes you feel like you have a lot of hair and volume especially for thinning hair.
- Scarves can sometimes be slippery or just move, Volumizer holds it in place well.

The Volumizer that you choose, is both a fashion choice and a matter of comfort. If someone chooses of a Volumizer for comfort, then I would recommend a full cap, as opposed to a band.
If one lives in a hot or humid temperature then the Volumizer BoboBand or QuickBobi might be perfect, for under a lightweight scarf.

The difference between the rectangle Headscarf and the Sinar- Apron is the shape of the fabric.
The Headscarf is one solid parallelogram measuring 200/50 cm or (approximately) 80/20 inches.
Due to the size and thickness of the fabric, some women wear it without the under-support of a Volumizer.
The length of the Sinar is also 200 cm, but the width mimics the classic shape of a kitchen apron with two narrow strips of fabric extensions, one on each side, and a large, wide square in the center, to fully cover the crown of the head.

I recommend starting with a Half Cover and patiently moving towards Full Coverage with light, pleasant and easy tie Tichels.
