Finally! A shoulder bag!

There have had many requests for this and although many of this designer's patterns could already be made into shoulder bags, here wanted is one just for that purpose. It is designed with a tassel! Add your favorite beads to your tassel, different colors of beads to accent the colors of the bag, hang beads along the whole flap—do whatever you are inspired to do.

The bag can also be done without the tassel, of course, and just use the flap as a closure. Not being a tassel-aficionado, the designers did not include instructions for it, but you will find instructions in knitting magazines as well as knitting books.

Approximate Finished size: Body: 10”wide x 7”high x 3” deep. Handles: 13” in length to middle of handle.

Materials Needed: (2) skeins of Brown Sheep 100% wool “Burly Spun”, (I used approx. 215 yds.) size 13 or 15 - 24” circular needles, 2 stitch holders, 4 markers, tassel and mat board cut to size for bottom of purse.

You can also knit this handbag using BaaBaJoe’s “10 ply Wool Pak”, holding 2 strands of yarn together and get a slightly smaller bag….9”w x 6”h with handles 12” in length. If you do not have a source for either of these yarns, use a 100% wool in a worsted, holding 2 strands together, or a bulky, using one strand.
Worsted = 430 yds. needed, Bulky or Burly = 215 yds. needed.

Gauge: 2 ½ stitches per inch on size 13 needles
