This is a Quiltmaker Magazine pattern, designed by a young man who was 10yrs old at the time it came out. What a great design! It is partially paper foundation pieced for accuracey of the windmill points. I don't often use a limited pallette of colors, but this one required it. I did, however, use several different oranges and yellows in the patchwork. I never can resist throwing in extra fabrics! This quilt is machine quilted with a windy swirl design. It measures 58"x74", and would be great for a boy or girl twin sized bed, or a sofa throw. It is backed with a cream and golden yellow print. I used an orange and yellow verigated thread in the bobbin to give the back a little punch! The stripe fabric has some gold metallic sparkle in it. It is 100% cotton throughout.
