Made to order...allow a couple of days for the customary quaffing and obligatory mando-mayhem in the background, before the official send-out!
Reclaimed empty amber ale bottle bottoms from Belgium: Chimay Premiere, Trappistes Rochefort 8, and Tripel Karmeliet (similar bottoms may be substituted by availability). The glass is wrapped in lead and soldered to copper rods, and connected with rings and swivels.
The rods are approximately 6" long--the Chimay bottom with its drastic variations in thickness, has a lumbering slightly woozy diameter of 3 1/4"...the other amber rounds are about 2 1/4" in diameter. The swivels encourage these glass art pieces to interact mit light und wind for interesting effect. Depending on what's happenin', they can sit languidly doin' nothin', or race about in a muscular frenetic fugue. Serve with a nice Belgina ale (perhaps one from this ensemble cast?), and the obligatory plate of exotic olives and stinky cheese. Oh...and don't forget the accordion music in the background.
This is my nod to the fellow that wore blue dungarees and a blue chambray shirt.
