Circular neckline and deep, flowing bell sleeves of early Medieval surcote-style garment, made to be worn over a chemise undergarment.

This surcote is open in the front from waist to hem.


Medium weight, hand-dyed cotton\/poly fabric in deep mullberry color (vegetable dye, hand wash separately in cool water), trimmed at neck and sleeve with 1.5 inch wide woven tapestry fabric in shades of old gold (non-metallic) and deep olive green.

Front lacing, stayed by gold-colored metal grommets closes the garment from neckline to waist.

180 inch hem circumference, self train (back hem longer by about a foot) so garment pools around the feet in back.
