18th Century Petticoat
Authentically Replicated
One Size Fits All

(This item is used as an example, Your petticoat will have the same material and your choice of color for the silk binding. After I recieve your order, construction will take 2-3 weeks to complete. If you need the garment sooner a rush fee will be added.)

This is an 18th century petticoat. It is historically accurate and one of a kind. In its time, Petticoats would have varied in price. This delightful quilted petticoat would pass well for a middle or upper class woman because of its fine embroidery and blue silk binding. Although as common as it was for clothing to be given as wedding gifts of presents, this petticoat would make a wonderful gift.

The nice thing about this cotton material is that the cotton has not been refined; it is still somewhat coarse to the touch. The color of the petticoat is a natural white and is accented with a silk sky blue bound casing. The colors are perfect for the period. The pattern is historically drafted and accurate. The petticoat would accompany your hitorical outfits very well. It can be used as an underskirt or overskirt.

Quilted Petticoats were worn by women of all social levels. Quilted Petticoats like this could have been worn under skirts to give it the fullness required or they could be worn as skirts - just plain. These petticoats are gorgeous and would look great just worn by itself. The colors are so versatile that is would match anything. Because they were worn on all social level the rich to the poor, this is a adaptable piece to add to your collection, it is even documented that indentured servants and slaves sometimes wore them as well as the highest ranking ladies of society.
Quilted petticoats of this quality are hard to come by
Ladies take advantage of this.

* Petticoat Length Front - 38"
* Petticoat Length Back - 37.5"
* Circumference - 162"

This is a new garment completely historically constructed with lots of hand sewing. The garment is over 90% hand sewn. The beautiful quilted petticoat is constructed with pleating in the back and front. The sides are split and are meant for access to your pockets. This waistband is a sky-blue silk, very delicate and attractive. This piece is stunning and will make any garment look historically accurate. When I first tried it on the dress form, under the new dress I was making I was stunned to see how well it made the garment match the picture taken from the museum. It will diffidently give you the correct 18th century shape. This quilted petticoat is truly wonderful. It is hemmed with a three-inch hem which is optional.

Personally, I like my petticoats and skirts shorter because I work around the fire most days. But many women chose to have their hems longer is a personal preference.

This would also be great for those fall and winder months when it gets cool. This Petticoat would look wonderful with panniers ( false hips) under it.

The shift (which has seen better days) and the corset are not included, Just the petticoat.
