I'm not sure about the history of this little lapel pin. It sports a large "E". Below it are the initials SAE. It may be a school pin or potentially a lapel pin for the Society of Automotive Engineers. The back is marked "Taylor & Co". The attached pin looks like the head of a panther and has the date "'39". The reverse of the animal head is unmarked. I don't know the gold content, if any, of these pins. It's possible the front of each pin is gold. The larger pin is 1/2" high, 3/8" wide.
