Name a color…’s in this rug! This is a wild and crazy rag rug constructed from scraps, remnants and leftovers from other rugs that I made. Its size and shape makes it ideal for a bedside, kitchen or hallway. These rugs are very durable and the multitude of colors in this rug means that it won’t show the dirt very easily.

When it does get dirty, just pop it in the wash machine. Since the fabrics are cotton or cotton blends, they machine wash great in cold water. Drying is a snap, too. Lay the rug on a hot driveway or sidewalk or over a drying rack. Some folks machine dry them but I prefer to air dry mine. To freshen the rug between washings, throw it in the dryer for a few minutes on a low setting and add a fabric softener sheet.

Toothbrush rugs are a primitive form of making rag rugs that originally incorporated a toothbrush handle as the needle. A knot, or stitch, similar to a blanket stitch is used to interconnect the strips of material.
