This wooden drafting board or drawing top has two metal legs underneath it to prop it up at an angle. Its size and handle enable its portability. Made by the "Frederick Post Company", a manufacturer founded in Chicago circa 1890's to produce drafting, engineering and surveying supplies and equipment - a successful venture as they became the third largest supplier of such equipment in the United States. Their catalogs include upright lines of such wares;"Posts Dependable Drawing Materials", the standout "El Dorado" pencil, Chicago sharpeners that laugh at obsolescence, and slide rules that truly measure up. In short, Frederick Post Co. is a name to look for when on the hunt.
This particular machine age board is quite worn: the planing arm has 5" of its plastic edge on the left hand side missing; the bottom is scuffed and the wood is weathered and scratched - this piece is prime for a refinish job.
Marked "Frederick Post Company, Post, Paratilt 1732 N".

Measures approximately 31" wide, 23" long, and sits 2" high (without legs angled).
