This is such a lovely ensemble for the wintertime... perhaps even for Christmas Day!! The dress is my interpretation of the Gautier Languereau style JADE. I have made it in a wonderful, fluid rayon crepe-like material, and it is accented (just like the original) with crisp white cotton organdy. Her sash is made from pure silk faille, and the ends are finished with white bead work. Easy to make and put on your doll. The opening on the dress is on one side of the center front organdy panel. Silk, rayon, and thin drapeable wool would all look well with this style. Her sash would also be very pretty made from silk taffeta!
Her coat and hat are my version of the G-L style FRIMAS. They are made from a soft vintage wool with a fancy weave, being shades of blue and green which have the appearance of teal from a distance. The faux fur is silky soft! A soft wool is good for this style. The faux fur should have a fairly low nap, if you wish to preserve the appearance as it is in the photos. As these two styles came out the same year, no doubt they were intended to be worn together.
The pattern is beautifully printed, with a full color cover showing several views. It is contained in a heavy plastic sleeve which you can insert into a binder. This Bleuette clothing was made to fit the Janice Naibert type Bleuette body, (approx 10 and 5\/8" tall with head) but should fit others as well. Please email if you have any questions. This clothing should also fit (perhaps with minor adjustments) dolls with well proportioned bodies, which measure 10"-11"..
You are buying the pattern only... the doll and accessories shown in the photos are not included. Doll clothing made by, and the pattern designed and published by Dede Kern.
