This is a gocco print of an original drawing of a wren done by my own fair hands! The wren is printed on to a page from "Where wild birds sing" by James E. Whiting. The edges of this page are un altered by me so there is a torn edge where the page has escaped it's binding, I have photographed it in a mount but you may wish to display it without so as to show off this lovely effect.

I found this gorgeous but poorly repaired book in a little second hand book shop (the kind that smells of old books and dust) Most of the pages had escaped their binding and the poor thing was quite beyond repair. The language is quite poetic and since it's such a shame to waste a good book I felt a little bird print would please Mr Whiting no end.

This is Page 4, on the back there is a little ancient sellotape and a short poem that begins:

"Stern winter's icey breath. intensely keen,
now chills the blood and withers every green;"

the rest can be a little secret for whoever buys this listing!
