This antique ornate and exquisite bowl was made by von Schierholz, a German porcelain manufacturer founded in 1817. This bowl, dating to late 19th to early 20th century, has reticulated sides and is handpainted with a large floral design on the inside bottom, and smaller flowers and gold swags inside. On the exterior, larger flowers alternate with three-dimensional wreathes. The four feet are little blocks with gold decoration.

The bowl is in very good vintage condition. It has no cracks, and only one small chip, on the inside corner of one of the legs. There is a fair amount of wear on the gilt, particularly around the top rim and on the inside. The flowers themselves show very little wear, but there is a stain of sorts on the inside bottom (not sure what it is, and it might have been a manufacturing issue; it's orange and slightly luminescent).

The bowl has a partial mark on the bottom, the blue crown and part of the von Schierholz shield.

Size: 8 inches across (at the widest) by 3 inches tall (20.3 x 7.6 cm)
