Decorate your dwelling with this 4-INCH Chartreuse Star Urchin ornament, based on the traditional Polish porcupine ball, and handmade using vivid, chartreuse-colored paper (light lime with a touch of yellow in it). Bright and modern, this color brings energy to any decor. And it's a great eerie color for Halloween too, especially when paired with Charcoal or Black.

Star Urchins are my modern interpretation of a decorative Polish folk art ornament, originally made from tissue paper, that dates back beyond a hundred years. To me, they look like stars or sea urchins, so I call them Star Urchins, but their spiky form has been likened to dahlias and fireworks, too. I make each Star Urchin completely by hand, and each one has 80 hand-formed points. My family has been making them for over half a century and my many years of practice produces a very neat ornament. They are delicate and celestial, take patience and a little while to make. Hang several from a branch for an instant modern art installation. They would also make a beautiful addition to a mod Christmas tree, or add to cheer to a room when hung as birthday decorations.

Each Star Urchin comes in a protective clear plastic box (like that pictured) that can also double as a gift box, and has a loop for hanging.

I recommend 3-inch, 4-inch and 5-inch ornaments for average size Christmas trees. Please contact ("convo") me if you would like a different size, quantity, or other colors not currently listed!
