This is a perfect example of the quality of Lilli Ann coats. It has the "Paris" city name included on the label indicating that this fabric came from one of the textile companies patronized by Schuman after WWII. It is in mint condition. The wool is fresh and clean with no visible flaws. It is an oatmeal color boucle wool. It is lined with a sensuous, smooth, luxurious satin giving it an opulent feeling when you slip your arms into it. The sleeves are slightly belled and don't quite cover the wrists. Meant to be worn with chic gloves! The coat itself is a slight swing style. It has grace and movement to it. Closes with four large buttons. Trimmed with a brown stoat (I think) collar. The collar is fur of some sort. Not sure if it is stoat or mink. It is smooth and shiny like mink but I am not sure if it is mink.

Information about the Lilli Ann label from the Vintage Fashion Guild label resource:
Lilli Ann was started in San Francisco in 1933 by Adolph Schuman, naming his company for his wife, Lillian. The company became known for their beautiful, elaborately designed suits and coats.
After WWII, Schuman went to France and it was during this time that the labels had “Paris” added to them. While in France, Schuman was buying fabrics, and many of the labels in Lilli Ann designs also contain the name of the French factory that made the fabric.

Many of these fabrics were bought from small textile companies, that were in such financial straits after the war that they were in danger of closing. Schuman bought from these small companies, and was thus credited with saving many of them from financial ruin. For his efforts Schuman was awarded medals from both France and Italy, and the Lilli Ann customer got a suit made of high quality, hand-loomed fabric.
