A Pattern for ROBE D'Ete and CHARLOTTE CLOCHE, styles from La Semaine de Suzette in 1911 and 1910.

In 1910 La Semaine de Suzette published a pattern for Charlotte-Cloche, a new style of Charlotte chapeau which had a modified cloche shape. I have adapted the pattern to make it easy to sew. If you will look at the pictures you will see it is most elegant!!

Then, in 1911, the pattern for Robe D'Ete (Summer Dress) was published. It is a delightful style which perfectly complements the Charlotte-Cloche. It is composed of an outer dress attached to a bodice foundation which gives it support and structure. I adapted the pattern slightly (as an example, the original called for hand embroidered scallops on the collar and sleeves, and I have substituted a wee scalloped lace).

This is indeed a dress for the summertime, but it has the appearance, also, of a tablier (apron), and it could be made beautifully in a fine wool, and then layered over a guimpe (blouse) of your choosing, for another interpretation. Suggested fabrics are cottons, fine wools, even silk.

The pattern is beautifully printed, with a full color cover showing several views. It is contained in a heavy plastic sleeve which you can insert into a binder. This Bleuette clothing was made to fit the Janice Naibert type Bleuette body, (approx 10 and 5\/8" tall with head) but should fit others as well. Please convo if you have any questions. This clothing should also fit (perhaps with minor adjustments) dolls with well proportioned bodies, which measure 10"-11"..

You are buying the pattern only... the doll and accessories shown in the photos are not included. Doll clothing made by, and the pattern designed and published by Dede Kern.
