Color Reductive Woodblock Print
8 colors, 8 runs
Paper: Torinoko
Image Size: 11 3/4" x 11 3/4"
Paper Size: 17 1/2" x 16"
Edition of 28.

This image is a matching of two wild natures. One, the Mexican wolf, is genuine. The other, a woman wearing the skin of a jaguar, reflects Aztec imagery of warriors and priests in animal skins and thereby assuming the ferocity and strength of that animal. Hummingbirds flit and swirl about, leading the 2 figures on a serpentine journey.
This is also one of my favorite pieces- the yellow is pure and bright, the lavender soft and dusky. While the subjects are meant wild, there is a gentleness in the work.

Carved, printed and signed by, me, the artist. Ships in a cardboard tube to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.

Want to get it matted and ready to frame? 20" x 24" matting option available. Please see my listings under Matting Service. *Also available framed*
