Another in my series of art quilts made using an old feed sack. According to info I found on the web, Russell-Miller was a milling company founded in the late 19th century in North Dakota. The Peavey company bought them in 1953, so I would imagine that this sack is from before that time. I like the graphic and the soft faded colors. I think they combine nicely with the reproduction feed sack fabrics I used around the edge. There is a stain on the feed sack, which is plainly visible in the picture. This is how I found tha sack, and should be considered part of the history of the piece. Lets call it shabby-barn chic.
