Tiny sculpted polymer clay cuttlefish in a tiny glass jar. The "water" is a non-yellowing acrylic gel resin. Silk cord wrapping keeps the jar hanging level. A great gift for biology lovers or just lovers of the unusual.

No cuttlefish were harmed in the making of this necklace.

This necklace has a 1½-inch (3.8cm) long pendant and 18-inch (46cm) long black silk cord with silver-plated lobster clasp.

Specimen jar refers to a jar with a biological specimen such as an animal or organ preserved in liquid. In the past jars with preserved fetuses were displayed in carnival sideshows as "pickled punks".

Cuttlefish are not fish at all but are cephalopods, their closest relatives are squid and octopus. They have eight arms and two tentacles with suckers that they use to capture their prey. Some cuttlefish are brightly colored and many can change the color and the texture of their skin as camouflage, mating display, or warning.
