I have a problem - I live in Florida, but I am completely unable to resist buying beautiful vintage faux fur coats! I thought I bought this to wear myself, but unfortunately I get about a day and a half every year where it's even close to cold enough for a coat like this.

So, I'm letting it go! It's a real beauty - done in plush black Borgazia faux fur and made by the famous "Borg" company. The pile and weight of the fur is really spectacular. It's soft and warm, with a very velvety teddy bear kind of feel. It has two rows of goldtone enameled buttons, and a turn down collar. The back has a small buttoned belt decoration. It's fully lined, and has pockets at the hips.

In the 1970s, when this coat was made, it would have been considered very high quality. Borg were well known for their lovely faux furs, and this piece sold at Saks Fifth Avenue in their high end Young Dimensions line. The Saks\/Young Dimensions tag is still sewn in the lining. The quality is still obvious today; the coat is in excellent condition. The stitching on the lining is coming undone at the left underarm, but it would be a cinch to fix. You can tell the stitching on the lining has been repaired in a few other spots, but the repaired stitches are well done and secure. Also, the faux fur is faced in the same satin as the lining at the hem, and it is showing some frayed wear in places.

Most importantly, the faux fur pile is really as good as new. It's soft and plush and will definitely keep you warm all winter!

Check the measurements against your own, or those of a garment that fits you well. These were taken with the coat laying flat, so double the number for the bust, waist, and hips.
