This one-of-a-kind piece combines an original fine silver and gemstone pendant and a woven seed bead necklace in the Kumihimo tradition also made by me.

The pendant at the focal point of this wonderful necklace depicts a maiden sequestered in a tower reaching out to give an envelope to a swallow. I imagine she is being kept prisoner against her will and the letter is a request to be freed by her lover; hence the title 'Rescue Me'. Vines and rooftops are included in this wonderfully detailed medallion. I've fused this scene onto a patterned backdrop with a large bail; and from the pendant I've dangled a beautiful faceted teardrop fancy jasper bead that matches the seed beads in the necklace. The pendant has been fired twice, tumbled, oxidized and then polished to bring out all the fabulous details in the scene. I love the dramatic, romantic medieval feel this piece has!

The pendant measures approximately 2-1/2 inches in length from the top of the bail to the tip of the jasper bead, and approximately 1-3/8 inches in width at its widest point. The necklace is approximately 17 inches in length.

I've finished off this beautiful piece with sterling silver end caps and a large sterling silver toggle clasp. The background pattern continues on the reverse side of this piece, and it contains my hallmark, stamped .999.
