Amazing, hand carved, handmade, wood Mobius Strip, Father's Day gift, gift for Dad, wood carving, puzzle.
The Mobius strip is named after the German mathematician August Ferdinand Mobius (1790-1868), who invented it. This Mobius strip was carved from a single piece of basswood. The finished carving presents a continuous or never ending path on it's surface. It appears to be two pieces somehow hooked together. However, if you start at any place on the three cornered split strip you will return to your starting point.

The Mobius strip was hand carved from basswood and is approximately 2 1/4" x 3/4" high. It is lightly sanded then finished with a protective coat of Danish oil which also enhances the natural grain of the wood. This is a very delicate piece and is difficult to carve. Each one is a one of a wood carving, and since no pattern is used the one you receive will vary ever so slightly from the one listed...and like all of my wood carvings it is initialed by me on one side. This amazing carving makes a great conversation piece on your mantle, shelf, coffee table, bookcase or desk.
