Custom-order your own board, any size, wood and detail* is possible. Photos are just a small selection of past custom orders.

**Please note: wood specie(s) and edge detail will be chosen by us unless you put any specific requests in notes to your order.

*Blood/juice grooves and pour-off corners are recommended for any serious carving platter. All boards come with chamfered edges and square corners unless otherwise specified.

Edge grain remains a great choice for everyday cutting or carving boards (as evidenced by the popular TV show "Iron Chef"). They provide a hard enduring surface, and may easily be planed or sanded down and refinished as necessary.

Edge grain is said to "jump out", visually, which many people like. In general edge grain boards are far less labor-intensive to flatten smooth, thus significantly less expensive. They also scar more easily than a genuine end grain butcher block, and are harder on your knives.

Choice of hardwood includes but is not limited to: rock maple, red maple, ambrosia maple, cherry, walnut, birch, hickory, ash, locust, cypress, white and red oak (not suitable for raw meat), as well as sustainably harvested specialty or exotic woods such as paduak, sapele, mahogany, curly maple, purpleheart, bloodwood and jatoba.

Nearly every one of our boards is made using reclaimed timber, and each is thoroughly pretreated with our Bee Good oil to help it endure many years of work with ongoing proper care.
