Price Reduced from $16 to $13. Versatile Black Welsh Mountain Sheep is a the only true black wool. A lovely characteristic is the Cochddu (reddish brown tips). The fibers average length is 2-3". The texture is medium, with a bulky, spongey hand. It will add strength and elasticity to a project. It blends\/cards well with other fibers and wool.

Excellent length for hand carding. Has lots of bulk, would make a nice sock yarn with softness, bounce and strength.

Breed: Black Welsh Mountain Sheep

Amount available: 1 pound

Staple shape: rectangular

Staple length: average around 2.5"

Hand: medium and bulky. It would be perfect for outerwear, sweater, socks, mitts, gloves, vests

Lustre: semi-lustre black with reddish brown sunkissed tips.

Crimp:spiral shaped crimp. I would class as down-type, and bulky.

Cleaness: Although I don't cover the sheep, there is very little VM (vegetable matter). I have cold-soaked this fleece and sorted by length. It's ready to spin in the grease or an easy wash.

A Wild Sagebrush and Lavender Sachet is included as a thank you!
