This set of six small leather-bound vintage Shakespeare books ("The Temple Shakespeare") in maroon are perfect for display, as a gift for the reader in your life or as photo props. Because of their condition, using them for display or photo props is probably best. They are from 1919, and are in fair to good condition (the insides are in fair to good condition; the covers are more towards fair condition).

Five of the books are by Shakespeare: "The Taming of the Shrew", "Twelfth Night", "The Tempest", "Hamlet" and "Othello". The first three are in better condition; whereas "Hamlet" is missing its front cover and the first few pages are detached, and "Othello" is missing its spine and the front cover is very close to detaching. Each book measures approximately 5.25 inches by approximately 4 inches wide.

The sixth book is a 1957 copy of the Berlitz "Basic French Dictionary". It is also in fair to good condition, with the inside pages having broken away from the spine (you can see the thread binding the pages together). This book measures approximately 6 inches high by approximately 4 inches wide.

I believe these books are leather-bound -- either leather, or a similar synthetic material like "leatherette".

As a writer I have had these books in my collection for at least 15 to 20 years, but now it is time to pass them along. Enjoy!
