This one-of-a-kind clay piece was created on the potters wheel and is approx 6" x 6" with a red clay blush on a white clay body and has a smooth exterior and a glazed interior.
The piece was removed from a hot kiln and the Moose hair was immediately applied.
The black squiggly lines are the carbon remains where the moment was captured as the hairs danced on the surface of the hot pot and smoked into the clay.
More typically called a horsehair Raku, because horse hairs are usually used. I like trying different hairs and Moose works great.
This is a low fire process creating a piece of pottery that would look good in any room in your home. It is functional for dry storage or decorative use. Signed by artist, Carol Ratliff
