Antique Elgin pocket wacth has just come of the bench and is keeping good time. Movement is housed in a silverode double hinged case. Overall a good running timepiece for its age. The Roman Numeral porcelain dial looks real good with no hairlines or chips that I can see. The blued "Spade Style" hour and minute hand are in good condition. Plastic crystal is free of any scratches, chips or cracks. Elgin pocket watch is pendant wind and set which works properly, with crown in very good condition. The serial number dates this 18 size 7 jewels open-faced pocket watch to the year 1894. The gilded movement reads: ELGIN NAT'L WATCH CO. SAFETY PINION ELGIN ILL. Movement still shows its blued bridge screws as well as case screws. Balance is showing good motion with regulator adjusted towards the slow position although it still has adjustment if necessary. Movement is cased in a double hinged silverode case. Case shows no dings or dents just some light scratches to the back cover. Case hinges are in good condition. Case covers snap on\/off tight, with front cover showing a little gap between the cover and main body of the case. Maybe I am being picky but should be mentioned and I will try to show this in one of my pictures. Other than that issue the bow looks original to the pocket watch. Pocket watch has no monogram. A nice old large working man's pocket watch for being 115 years old! FREE SHIPPING! Your pocket watch will be sent by priority shipping and will include insurance.
