"Vintage Fashion Accessories" is your guide to making the most of vintage accessories and showing off your fashion and collecting sense in what you wear. In this beautifully illustrated book you’ll discover more than 1,000 color photos of hats, handbags, jewelry, shoes, compacts, scarves, hankies, belts and more. Plus, there’s a chapter on accessories for the debonair gentleman.

Vintage Fashion Accessories, December 16, 2009
By Bruce P. Reinhard

This is the most extensive guide book I've found on this subject. Each page accurately describes the pictured vintage items in detail, with era, item composition & approximate current value. Miss LoAlbo, not only reports this industry, 'she IS the industry'. When I wish to purchase vintage items as gifts or for my own personal collections, there is no better source...... Bruce P. A fantastic guide to vintage accessories!, December 15, 2009
By Haunt Couture (pajamaland, nj United States) -

As a person who works in costumes professionally, I found Ms LoAlbo's book to be a perfect research tool. As a person who wears vintage, it totally made me drool. The writing is conversational, yet informative. I have given this as a gift to other likeminded people and will be doing so in the future.

I hope that she will be doing more books in the future.

A Marvelous,Gorgeous Book With A BRILLIANT Foreword, December 15, 2009
By Elisa DeCarlo "Style Goddess" (New York)

DAHLINGS -

In the interest of full disclosure, I must confess that I wrote the forward to this simply amazing book. And the volume more than lives up to the forward.

The photography alone is breathtaking: real women of all ages modeling vintage bags, shoes, jewelry and many other pretties along with modern clothing. (My personal favorite section is on vintage hats.) Stacy LoAlbo writes knowledgeably about her topic--it is not for nothing that she is called "The Vintage Maven"--even about men's accessories.

This book is delicious eye candy for the vintage lover and educational for would-be vintage lovers and fashionistas everywhere. Buy it for yourself and as a gift for your loved ones. Ciao!

A fascinating and profusely illustrated survey that will prove of interest to any fashion conscious reader, December 13, 2009
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA)

There are cycles in fashion and given enough time, so many aspects of fashion seem to recycle and repeat over time -- and that phenomena most definitely includes fashion accessories from ties to handbags to scarves, hats, and all manner of jewelry.
That's just one reason that "Vintage Fashion Accessories" is such a fascinating and profusely illustrated survey that will prove of interest to any fashion conscious reader -- especially those with limited budgets who will be happy to find that the addition of an accessory can obviate the need for an entire wardrobe replacement to maintain 'fashionability' in their attire.
Author Stacy LoAlbo draws upon her many years of experience and expertise as the owner and proprietor of Incogneeto, a New Jersey store whose clothing and accessories inventory range from Victorian finery to funky '70s polyester for both men and women, and range from the easily affordable to the stratospheric in pricing.
More than just an antique\/collectibles picture book, "Vintage Fashion Accessories" provide the reader with a history of fashion accessories and current values, advice on collecting, and even recommendations for places to shop. Of special note is the chapter focusing on accessories for the gentleman, making "Vintage Fashion Accessories" an ideal and enthusiastically recommended addition to personal, professional, and community library Fashion History and Antiques\/Collectibles reference collections and supplemental reading lists.

Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
Etsy direct checkout is preferred, Paypal, checks and money orders are also accepted. Personal checks are fine as long as you don't mind waiting until the funds clear. If a check's returned NSF, I'll ask you to cover the bank fee - it's only fair. Checks can be sent to:
incogneeto
30 Division St.,
Somerville, NJ
08876

If you're not using Paypal or Etsy instant payment, please let me know what alternate form of remittance you'll be using and when I can expect it.

Payment is expected within 3 days of sale date. I will place the item on reserve for you for that amount of time. I realize there may be emergencies that crop up; so if for some reason the 3 day grace period can't work for you, please contact me so we can make other suitable arrangements.

I also offer layaway or installment purchases on a case by case basis; so please ask. Terms are 20% down with 30 days to pay. If you do not pay within 30 days, I will remove your reserve and open the listing to other buyers. At that point, you forfeit your deposit.

Tax is collected for sales in NJ. Paypal automatically adds it to every purchase, so if your item is a non taxable item, I will be sure to refund those monies.

Returns & exchanges

Refunds are no longer accepted unless the item is grossly misrepresented or damaged in shipment. I go out of my way to include all measurements to assure a proper fit. It is the buyers responsibility to read the listing and ask questions if I am missing something.
If a refund is warranted, items must be returned promptly (within 3 days of receiving) and in the same condition as sent - I absolutely do not refund shipping expense. That money went to the post office, not in my pocket so I don't have it to give you!

I understand that clothing is a difficult piece of merchandise to buy online since you cannot feel the fabric, smell the presence or lack of odors, and most importantly, you cannot try the garment on for proper fit. Sure, I carefully measure & note actual measurements of the items in my listings, but that doesn't always do it. I ask my customers to compare measurements to an item of their own that fits. I also carefully disclose condition... but sometimes I miss a seam, or a loose hem stitch. This is to be expected of vintage. These items are old. I do however reserve the right to handle any dispute individually & will work with you to resolve a problem should one occur.

Prompt communication is the key to a good online experience. If I don't hear from you, I will assume our business has concluded.

Additional policies

We are pleased to announce that we have just opened a wholesale annex here on etsy as TRUEVINTAGEWHOLESALE, where we sell lots of vintage by the category. It's a slow start but I am putting new listings up daily. Please visit it here:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/TRUEVINTAGEWHOLESALE

Condition: My vintage clothing, jewelry & accessories are vintage and therefore not brand new. Please expect some age wear to vintage. I disclose all damages that are obvious, but please ask questions if you have a concern.

Requests: If I have what you're looking for (and I have A LOT!), I'll list it so we can keep Etsy one of the best online buying sites around!

International: International customers should note that occasionally your purchase may incur VAT or customs charges. As a buyer, it's your responsibility to be familiar with and pay any assessed duties based on your country of delivery.

Discounts: I believe I have my items priced fairly for the market. I have been selling vintage since 1986 and know what the going prices are. I wouldn't have been able to stay in business this long if I was over priced, especially during the recession! Therefore, I consider my prices to be firm. Prices reflect the time it takes to list, salary to my photographer and models, fees on etsy and paypal. However, there have been times when I will accept a reasonable discount offer. After all, I have coupon codes available for repeat customers.
